5) Our doors won't stay dogged open. Is the key the problem?
Rarely. If the hex turns and the bar does not hold down, the issue is in the device, not the 123F53-8. A worn or rounded socket will slip, and that shows as the key spinning without resistance. Two other things to rule out first: the device may have been ordered with cylinder or electric dogging, which does not respond to a hex key at all, and fire rated exit hardware has no dogging function by design.
