Lever trim only. The ML2057-M31 is the outside/inside lever hardware for a storeroom-function ML2000 Series mortise lockset, not the lock case. If your existing ML2000 lockbody is sound and you're replacing damaged or worn levers, or changing the lever design across a building, this is what you order. If the lock case itself has failed, you need a complete ML2000 Series storeroom lockset instead.
2) Do I have to order the ML2057 lever trim handed, or can I re-hand it on the job?
Field reversible. The trim can be set to left or right hand on site, and the ML2000 platform's patented Quick Reversible latchbolt lets the lock be re-handed without disassembling the lock case, so you don't have to know the hand before the truck rolls. One exception on the lever selection: the DS Dirke lever is offered as a specific left hand or right hand casting, so that one design you do specify by hand when ordering.
3) What door thickness and backset does the ML2000 mortise storeroom lock work with?
