Sta-Kon 6UNICR-CHACSR – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Sta-Kon 6UNICR-CHACSR and what cable does it cut?
It is a replacement cutting head that mounts to Sta-Kon ACSR, copper and aluminum cutting tools. Order it by part number 6UNICR-CHACSR when the head on an existing tool is worn or damaged rather than replacing the whole tool.
2) Does the 6UNICR-CHACSR come with a crimping or cutting tool, or is it the head only?
Head only. The 6UNICR-CHACSR is the cutting head component intended for use on an ACSR, copper and aluminum cutting tool you already have, so you need the compatible tool body to put it to work.
3) Can the 6UNICR-CHACSR head be used to cut steel-reinforced aluminum conductor?
Yes. The head is specified for ACSR along with plain copper and aluminum conductor, which is why electrical contractors and utility crews use this style of head instead of a standard copper-only cutter.
4) Where is the Sta-Kon 6UNICR-CHACSR cutting head made?
Japan. That matters on government, institutional and utility orders where country of origin has to be documented on the submittal or purchase order.
