Delaney Hardware BD0034 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Delaney BD0034 barn door pull a single-sided pull or does it come with a matching pull for the back of the door?
The BD0034 is a single round pull on a plate, sold one to a model. If you need hardware on both faces of the barn door, you order two. On a typical barn door only the room-side face gets a pull anyway, since the wall side is inaccessible when the door is open.
2) What finish is the Delaney BD0034 barn door pull, and will it match matte black hinges and faucets?
US19 Black is the only finish on the BD0034. US19 is the standard black designation, so it reads as the flat black most people pair with black rail kits, black hinges, and black plumbing trim. There is no other finish option on this model, so if you need bronze or satin nickel you are looking at a different pull.
3) Will this Delaney pull work on a regular swinging door or is it only for barn doors?
It is a barn door pull, meant for a sliding slab where there is no room for a knob or lever that projects into the wall. Mechanically it is a round pull on a plate, so it can be used anywhere a surface-mounted pull works, including a cabinet-style or closet slider. What it will not do is latch a door. There is no latching or locking mechanism here at all, so on a swinging door you would still need a separate latch or ball catch.
4) How long is the Delaney BD0034 barn door pull handle?
11-3/4 inches is the stated size of the Delaney BD0034 pull. That is a full-hand grab, long enough to get a two-handed pull on a heavy slab, so it suits a solid-core or reclaimed-wood barn door rather than a light hollow-core panel where a short pull would look right.
5) I have several barn doors in a building to outfit the same way. Can I standardize on the Delaney BD0034?
For a property manager or facility standardizing across openings, the BD0034 works well as a single line item: one model, one size at 11-3/4 inches, one finish in US19 Black. There are no handing, size, or finish variations to track from door to door, so every opening gets an identical part and reorders match what is already installed.
6) Is the Delaney barn door pull handed, or does the same part work on a left or right sliding door?
No handing. It is a round pull centered on a plate, symmetrical, so the same part mounts on a door that slides left or one that slides right, and it can be run vertically or horizontally depending on how you want it to read. You do not specify a hand when you order.
7) What is the exact Delaney model number for the 11-3/4 inch black barn door pull?
Model BD0034 from Delaney Hardware, the 11-3/4 inch round pull with plate in US19 Black. That is the number to quote or reorder against.
