Delta Breez VFRU-21-20LM – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How bright is the light on the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR fan light, and what color temperature is it?
The GBR-DECOR LED module puts out 950 lumens of main light at 3000K, a warm white, with an 80 CRI for color accuracy. A 13-watt LED lamp is included, so there's no separate lamp to source. For a bathroom or powder room in a rental unit or hotel guest room, 3000K reads warm rather than the bluish cast of a 4000K or 5000K source, which matters if you're matching the vanity fixtures already in the room.
2) Can I put the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR bath fan light on a dimmer?
The LED is dimmable, but the dimmer switch is not supplied with the module. You'll need to furnish an LED-compatible dimmer separately. Worth flagging on a bid: an electrician wiring this into a new bath needs the dimmer specified on the order or the light runs at full output only.
3) Is the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR ENERGY STAR qualified for a green building or utility rebate program?
Yes, it carries ENERGY STAR qualification, and the efficiency figure is 7.6 CFM per watt. Those are the two values a program administrator or LEED consultant will ask for on a ventilation submittal. It's part of Delta's Breez Green Builder collection.
4) Is the LED lamp in the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR replaceable, or is the whole module lamp-and-all?
A 13-watt LED lamp is included with the GBR-DECOR module, and the LED is rated for 30,000 hours of life against roughly 10,000 hours for a CFL. For a property manager running a fleet of units, that's the number that matters: at typical bath usage this is a fixture you are not sending a tech back to relamp on any normal turn cycle.
5) What finish options does the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR come in to match my bathroom hardware?
The finials come in chrome, brushed nickel, brushed bronze, and polished white, so the visible trim can be matched to the faucets and towel bars already in the room. That's the only exposed decorative element, which is why the finial choice is what a remodeler cares about here.
6) Is the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR quiet enough for a bedroom-adjacent bathroom?
Rated at 1.5 sones. That's in the range where the fan is audible but not intrusive through a closed door, which is why it's a common pick for hotel guest baths and multi-family units where the bathroom shares a wall with a sleeping area. The brushless DC motor is what gets it there.
7) Can the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR be installed in a ceiling?
Ceiling mount is the listed installation, and the unit is UL approved for it. That's the standard bath application, joist bay above the fixture with the duct run to an exterior termination.
8) How long does the Delta Breez brushless DC motor last compared to a standard bath fan motor?
Delta rates the brushless DC motor at 2-1/2 times the life of a traditional AC motor fan. For an MRO or facilities buyer standardizing across a building, that's the argument for spending more per unit up front: fewer ladder trips and fewer unit-turn replacements over the life of the building.
9) What model number do I order for the Delta Breez GBR-DECOR LED module?
The order designation is VFRU-21-20LM, the GBR-DECOR LED module from Delta Breez. Distributors pricing it against an adjacent Breez model should note this is the LED module within the Breez Green Builder line, not a complete fan assembly designation.
