Deltana 18EXTROD – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do I need to buy an extension rod separately when I order a Deltana extension flush bolt?
No. Deltana extension flush bolts ship with one rod already in the package. The 18EXTROD is a spare or replacement rod, sold each, for when you need a second rod, a longer reach on a tall door, or a replacement for a bent or missing one.
2) What length is the Deltana 18EXTROD extension rod and how far does it extend the flush bolt?
The 18EXTROD is an 18 inch rod, so it adds 18 inches of reach to a Deltana extension flush bolt. On an inactive leaf of a pair, that is what lets the bolt throw up to a header or down to the threshold on an opening taller than a standard rod covers.
3) What thread does the Deltana 18EXTROD extension rod use?
Rod threading is 1-3/8 inches on the 18EXTROD. That threaded section is what couples the rod to the flush bolt assembly, so match it against the bolt you are extending before ordering.
4) Is the Deltana 18EXTROD rod stainless steel or plated steel?
The rod itself is stainless steel, both material and substrate, with a steel finish. That matters where the rod runs down to a threshold and sees mopping, salt, or weather at an exterior pair.
5) Is the Deltana 18EXTROD rated for commercial door use or is it residential trim?
Commercial. The 18EXTROD is a commercial-grade stainless extension rod for flush bolts, which is the application you see on inactive leaves of pairs in multi-family, institutional, and office openings rather than residential interior doors.
6) Can I order just one Deltana extension rod, or does it come in a pack?
Unit of measure is each, so a single 18 inch rod is one order. Pairs of doors that need both a top and a bottom extension rod take two, minus whatever rod already came with the flush bolt.
