Deltana 98C2012 98C Series Classic Soap Dish, Solid Brass, Limited

Solid brass. Both the material and the substrate are brass, so the finish is applied over metal rather than over a plastic or zinc body. That is why it holds up in a wet wall-mounted location better than a plated pot-metal dish.

The 98C2012 pairs a solid brass bracket with a frosted glass dish. The glass is the part that holds the soap and lifts out for cleaning; the brass is the mounting hardware that stays on the wall.

It is classified as a residential accessory. For a single-family home, condo, or apartment bath it is the right kind of part. For a high-traffic public restroom, an institutional buyer should look at commercial-rated washroom accessories instead, since a frosted glass dish in a public stall is a breakage and liability issue.

Three finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel, and Polished Chrome. That covers the three most common bath suite looks, so if you are matching existing towel bars or robe hooks on a remodel, pick the finish that matches the rest of the trim in the room.

Yes. The 98C2012 is a single model offered in Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel, and Polished Chrome, so a property manager standardizing bath accessories across units can spec one model number plus one finish and repeat it. Because it is part of Deltana's 98C Series, other accessories in the same series carry the same design language for matching towel bars and holders.

The 98C2012 is sold as a complete soap dish, brass bracket plus frosted glass dish, so it replaces a broken unit outright. What it cannot be assumed to do is drop onto another manufacturer's existing wall bracket, since bracket geometry differs by brand. Plan on mounting the new bracket, and expect to patch or cover the old anchor holes in the tile if they do not line up.
