Deltana CL200LA Single Deadbolt Grade 2 with 2-3/4" Backset

It covers 1-3/8 inch through 2 inch doors, so it handles both the standard 1-3/4 inch commercial door and thicker entry slabs up to 2 inches, as well as older 1-3/8 inch interior doors.

The cylinder is cut for the Schlage C keyway, so it drops into a building already keyed on Schlage C without swapping cylinders. That matters if you are standardizing a property on one key system.

The CL200LA as ordered is a fixed 2-3/4 inch backset with a no-lip strike, and the 2-3/8 inch version is a separate order. The CL200LA is a Grade 2 commercial tubular deadbolt with cylinder x thumbturn function. Where the opening carries a fire rating requirement, the Hager 3115 and 3215 are Grade 2 cylinder x thumbturn deadbolts carrying a fire rating for 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors, with the 3215 using a 1 inch throw bolt, and the Hager 3118 is the Grade 1 classroom version with a 6-pin Schlage C cylinder. The Corbin Russwin DL3011 is a Grade 1 cylindrical deadlock rated for 1-3/4 inch to 2-1/4 inch doors with cylinder by blank plate, which is the function to specify when the thicker door also needs key-only operation.

Handing is universal on the CL200LA, so one part covers left and right hand openings. Nothing to specify on the order beyond backset and finish.

Single cylinder: key outside, thumbturn inside. That is the right choice for most apartment and office entries, but if the door has glass within reach of the turn your local code may call for a double cylinder instead, such as the Hager 3214.

The CL200LA is a tubular Grade 2 deadbolt rated commercial, which suits apartment entries, offices, and light to moderate traffic openings. For high abuse doors or where a spec calls for Grade 1, step up to something like the Dexter DB1000 single cylinder or the Delaney LM Series Grade 1.

Two routes. Deltana offers the CL200LA in a 2-3/8 inch backset as a separate item. If you would rather cover both backsets from one box, the Cal-Royal ED500 and Cal-Royal LSD are adjustable backset deadbolts, and the Brinks Raleigh E2401 uses a 4-way adjustable backset. Note the Cal-Royal ED500 and LSD are Grade 3, not Grade 2.

It is a tubular bored deadbolt, so it installs through a cross bore in the door face with the bolt case in an edge bore. If you need a surface applied unit because the door cannot be bored, the Codelocks CL200 is a surface deadbolt with key override instead.

The Falcon D211 is a Grade 2 classroom function deadbolt operated by a single cylinder, so the bolt is thrown and retracted by key rather than a thumbturn - the pattern schools and institutions use when they do not want occupants locking the bolt from inside. Falcon's D111 is the Grade 1 heavy duty classroom equivalent, and Corbin Russwin's DL3211 is a Grade 1 cylindrical deadlock with cylinder by blank plate for 1-3/4 inch doors.

The CL200LA is keyed, single cylinder outside with a thumbturn inside. If the opening does not need a key outside, the Arrow E60 is a Grade 2 exit deadlock with a blank plate outside and a thumbturn inside for 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch doors. The Callan Model 205S is a Grade 3 one-sided half-bore deadbolt, which mounts in a partial bore rather than a through bore - worth confirming against your existing prep before you swap.

The CL200LA is a mechanical keyed deadbolt. The CL200LA is a Grade 2 single cylinder deadbolt with a 1-1/8 inch by 2-3/4 inch strike. Where the cylinder is exposed and you want more resistance at the same grade, the Cal-Royal CB160 is a Grade 2 single cylinder deadbolt with a tamper-resistant cylinder guard, same cylinder x thumbturn function. Not without changing the door prep. The CL200LA is a tubular deadbolt that installs in a bored cross bore and edge bore at a 2-3/4 inch backset. Mortise alternatives such as the Dormakaba D900 small case mortise deadbolt and the Emtek 2050 and 2051 European mortise deadbolts with integrated roller latch require a mortise pocket in the door edge. The Emtek pair is cylinder x thumbturn like the CL200LA, in square and round trim, but the body is not interchangeable with a tubular bore.

Three: Oil Rubbed Bronze, Polished Brass, and Brushed Stainless. Brushed Stainless is the usual match for commercial lever and exit hardware in 26D-type finishes, while the bronze and brass suit residential and hospitality trim.
