Deltana SG32205 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size sink bowl does the Deltana SG32205 sink grid fit?
The SG32205 grid measures 16-5/8 x 13-1/2 inches, so you need a bowl whose interior floor is at least that in both directions for the grid to drop flat. Measure the bottom of the bowl, not the rim, since most sinks taper inward as they go down. If the base of your bowl is smaller than 16-5/8 in either direction, this one will bind on the walls and sit crooked.
2) Is the Deltana SG32205 sink grid stainless steel all the way through, or just plated?
Stainless steel through the substrate, not a plated finish over another metal. Both the material and the underlying substrate are listed as stainless steel, and the one finish offered is brushed stainless. That matters in a wet bowl where the grid sits in standing water and gets dragged across daily.
3) Is the Deltana SG32205 sink grid rated for a commercial kitchen?
No. Deltana lists the SG32205 as a residential product, part of its Kitchen collection. For a restaurant line, a school cafeteria, or any high-volume commercial wash-up, spec a grid intended for that service instead. In an apartment, condo turn, or single-family kitchen it is the right class of part.
4) What does a sink grid actually do, and do I need one in a rental unit?
A sink grid sits on the floor of the bowl so pots, cast iron, and dropped flatware land on steel rather than on the sink surface. In rental turnovers that is the difference between a scratched bowl at move-out and one that still looks clean. The Deltana SG32205 is the large size at 16-5/8 x 13-1/2 inches, sized for a single large bowl or the big side of an offset double.
5) Does the Deltana SG32205 sink grid come in other finishes?
One finish only: brushed stainless steel. There is no polished or colored option in the SG32205, so if you are matching a set of units to a single look, every piece you order will be the same brushed finish.
