Deltana WBC6353U15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How big is the Deltana WBC6353 pentagon wire basket, and how far does it stick out from the shower wall?
The WBC6353 corner basket measures 8-1/4 x 6-7/8 inches with a 2 inch depth. That shallow projection is what keeps it out of the way in a tight shower corner while still holding full-size bottles.
2) Is mounting hardware included with the Deltana wire basket, or do I need to buy anchors separately?
Mounting hardware is packed with the basket. For tile or stone shower walls you'll still want the correct masonry drill bit and, depending on substrate, anchors suited to tile over backer board, since what ships in the box is the standard fastener set.
3) Will a solid brass shower basket hold up in a wet shower without corroding?
The WBC6353 is solid brass through the body, not plated steel wire, and brass resists tarnishing in constant wet use. That matters in hotel and multi-family showers where a plated steel basket rusts at the weld points within a couple of years.
4) What finishes does the Deltana WBC6353 wire basket come in so I can match the rest of my bath trim?
Three finishes: PVD Polished Brass, Brushed Nickel, and Polished Chrome. The PVD polished brass is the one to pick for high-traffic commercial baths, since PVD is a harder coating than lacquered brass and holds up better to cleaners.
5) Is this Deltana basket rated for commercial use or is it a residential accessory?
Deltana lists the WBC6353 as commercial grade, so it is specified for hotel, multi-family, and institutional washrooms as well as homes. Solid brass construction is the reason it carries that designation rather than a residential-only one.
6) I'm outfitting several identical shower units. Can I standardize on this basket across all of them?
Yes. The WBC6353 is a single model sold by the each in one size, 8-1/4 x 6-7/8 inches, with the finish as the only variable. Pick one of the three finishes and every unit gets the same footprint and the same drill pattern, which is what keeps a multi-unit install repeatable.
7) Can I use a wire basket like this as a soap dish, or do I need a separate soap holder?
Deltana catalogues the WBC6353 in the soap dish family, and the open wire bottom drains, so bar soap won't sit in a puddle. It's deep enough at 2 inches to take bottles and soap together, which is why it usually replaces both a separate soap dish and a shelf on a shower wall.
