Deltana WDP Window Door Pin, 3"

It's a secondary lock for sliding openings. The Deltana WDP pin drops through a drilled hole to block a sliding door or window from travelling in its track, so it holds the panel shut (or partially open for ventilation, if you drill a second hole) independently of the factory latch. It comes with a retention chain so the pin stays attached to the frame when you pull it out.

Both. The WDP pin is made for track doors and sliding windows of almost any kind, so the same part covers a sliding patio door, a sliding window sash, and similar track-guided panels. The limit is the pin length, not the panel type: the WDP30 is a 3 inch pin, so you need enough combined material through the two frames for it to seat properly.

The WDP30 is the 3 inch version. That length is what determines how deep the pin can pass through the sliding panel frame and into the fixed frame or track behind it. Drill the hole so the pin passes through the first frame member and engages the second, with the head sitting against the face of the frame. On a thin aluminum sash, 3 inches gives you plenty of engagement; on a heavy or deep frame section, measure your stack before drilling.

Steel, both the material and the substrate, and Deltana lists it as a commercial-grade item. Steel is the reason it works as a security pin rather than a token stop: a solid steel shank across the track resists forcing far better than the plastic wedges and pressure bars sold for the same job. For an apartment or hotel portfolio, that makes it a reasonable standard secondary lock to spec across sliding units.

The chain is included. Each WDP pin ships with a retention chain that keeps the pin tethered when it is pulled out of the hole, so tenants don't lose it and maintenance isn't replacing pins after every unlock. That matters most in rentals, where a loose pin left on a sill disappears within a week.

Three: PVD Polished Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, and Brushed Nickel. Those are Deltana's common trim finishes, so if the building's window and door hardware is already Deltana, you can match the pin head to it rather than leaving a bare fastener on the frame. PVD Polished Brass is the one to pick where the pin is exposed to weather on a patio slider, since PVD is a plated finish rather than a living one.
