That is the application Detex calls out for the Advantex 60/61. If you had a mullion in the opening you would be looking at rim devices instead.
6) What are my options if the door is a wide stile hollow metal leaf and not aluminum?
The Advantex 60/61 will not suit it, since it is a narrow stile device for aluminum. For wide stile openings, the Von Duprin 8827-3FT is a Grade 1 wide stile surface vertical rod device for 1-3/4 inch doors, and the Imperial USA ED-VR531 is a Grade 1 wide stile surface vertical rod in a 36 inch size. If the opening is fire rated, the Marks USA M9900FVR and the Delaney F9100 Series are fire rated vertical rod devices.
7) Can I swap a surface vertical rod device in where a Detex Advantex 60/61 concealed vertical rod device was installed?
Not as a drop-in. The Detex Advantex 60/61 Series runs its rods concealed inside the narrow stile aluminum door, so the door is prepped for internal rods. Surface vertical rod devices such as the Von Duprin 8827-3FT or the Imperial USA ED-VR531 mount their rods on the door face and are built for wide stile doors, which is a different door prep and a different stile width.

Three choices at order time: hex key dogging, cylinder dogging, or less dogging. Hex is the standard mechanical hold-down for a retail or school door you want pushed open during business hours. Cylinder dogging locks that function to a key so staff control it. There is also an ED electric dogging option if you want the door dogged and undogged from an access control schedule.
10) What does the Dummy Pull Trim function mean on the Detex 6002WP/6102WP?
Dummy pull trim means the outside pull is fixed, not a keyed or locking lever. Push the touchbar and you get out; from the outside the pull is there to close the door only, it will not retract the bolts. Use this on an exit-only or push/pull opening.
