If you're putting several of these on one building and want one control key for all of them, order keyed alike. Keyed different gives each door its own key.
5) Can I use my own SFIC core in a Detex ECL-230D?
Yes. The lock body takes standard rim cylinders in 5, 6, or 7 pin as well as interchangeable core rim cylinders, so a locksmith can drop the building's existing IC core in and keep the exit on the same master system. Order it as the no-cylinder version if you're supplying your own core.
6) Does the Detex ECL-230D alarm need to be wired to power?
No wiring. The alarm runs on a 9-volt battery, and the battery ships with the device.
