1) What is a flush endcap on a Detex exit device, and why would I replace one?
It is the cap that closes off the end of the push bar rail on a Detex exit device. Flush means it sits tight to the rail rather than projecting, so there is less to catch clothing, carts, or a passing shoulder in a high traffic corridor. Endcaps are the part that gets knocked loose or scuffed first, and replacing the cap is a lot cheaper than replacing the device.
2) I manage a building with black exit devices. Is there a matching endcap?
Yes, the flush endcap is offered in 693 black powder coat, along with 630 satin stainless and 695 dark bronze. If you are standardizing openings across a property, order the endcap in the same finish code you already spec on the devices.
3) Do I order the Detex flush endcap by handing?
