Look for an in-swing latch guard instead, which wraps the frame and blocks the strike area rather than covering the latch edge of the door.
2) Is the LP-307 sized for a narrow aluminum storefront stile?
Yes, and that is the whole point of it. The plate measures 2-5/8 x 7 inches, which is deliberately short and narrow so it covers the latch area without overhanging the glass stop or running past the stile on an aluminum storefront door.
