Stop only units (S function) are designed to limit the degree of door swing while providing a cushioned stop. These units are a good choice for use on labeled fire doors where hold open is prohibited.

Stop/Hold units (H function) function like stop only units with an added selective on/off hold open feature. An inconspicuous slot screw on the face of the track channel allows field engagement/disengagement of hold open. Stop/hold is recommended where non-labeled doors must be held in the open position.

Friction/Stop (F function) units provide a cushioned limiting stop and adjustable friction stay. The accessible screw on top of the slide shoe allows field adjustment of the friction. This option provides a method of holding non- labeled doors at multiple positions without readjustment. Available in 700/710 Series only.

1) How do you turn the hold open on and off on a DORMA 701H?
There is a slot screw on the face of the track channel. Engaging or disengaging it in the field switches the hold open on or off, so the same unit can run as a plain stop on openings where you do not want the door standing open. No parts change required.
2) I want the door to stay open at several different positions, not just one. Is the 701H the right unit?
