Dormakaba 44112-26D-01 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Dormakaba 44112 and what does it do on the door?
The 44112 is a spacer collar, an installation accessory that sets and holds the correct spacing and alignment between Dormakaba mechanical lock components during install. It is not a lock, a rose, or a trim plate on its own, and it does not add any locking function. Order it when your Dormakaba lock assembly calls for a collar to take up space and keep the hardware positioned correctly.
2) Will the Dormakaba 44112 spacer collar work with another brand's lockset?
Treat it as a Dormakaba-only part. The 44112 is a genuine Dormakaba component made to fit Dormakaba mechanical lock hardware, and no fit with other manufacturers' locksets is stated. If you are servicing a Schlage, Sargent, or Best cylindrical lock, source the collar or spacer from that maker's own parts list instead.
3) What finish does the Dormakaba 44112 spacer collar come in, and will it match my existing lever trim?
One finish only: Satin Chrome, listed as 626 on the order and as 26D in the product model 44112-26D-01. 626 and 26D are the same brushed silver tone, so it coordinates with satin chrome levers, roses, and exit trim already on commercial openings. If your doors are brass, oil-rubbed bronze, or black, this collar will not match.
4) What part number should I give my supplier for the Dormakaba satin chrome spacer collar?
Ask for Dormakaba 44112, full designation 44112-26D-01, which is the satin chrome (626) build. The 44112 base number identifies the spacer collar; the 26D segment is the finish, so quoting the full string avoids getting a different finish pulled.
5) Is the Dormakaba 44112 collar suitable for a high-traffic commercial building, or is it a residential part?
It is a commercial-duty accessory, built for Dormakaba door hardware in offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, industrial and warehouse space, multi-tenant residential, and government buildings. Property managers standardizing satin chrome hardware across a portfolio can use the same part number on every opening that calls for it.
