Dormakaba 74468-26D-01 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the Dormakaba 74468 riser plate, and what does it do on the door?
The 74468 is a riser plate, a mounting plate that sets the correct elevation and alignment between a Dormakaba mechanical lock component and the door. It is not a lock, a cylinder, or a trim plate, so it will not secure an opening on its own. You order it when you are servicing or reinstalling a Dormakaba mechanical lock and need the original riser under it.
2) Is the Dormakaba 74468 a genuine OEM part or an aftermarket copy?
It is a genuine Dormakaba part from their parts and accessories program, made to original Dormakaba specifications. That matters on a riser plate because the hole pattern and stack height have to match the lock it sits under; an approximate plate will throw off spindle and screw alignment.
3) What finish does the Dormakaba 74468 riser plate come in, and will it match 26D hardware already on my doors?
One finish only: Satin Chrome, 626 / 26D. That is the standard commercial satin chrome finish, so it matches existing 26D or 626 Dormakaba lock trim on the rest of your openings. There is no brass, bronze, or black option on the 74468.
4) What part number should I give my supplier for the 74468 riser plate in satin chrome?
Order it as Dormakaba 74468, model 74468-26D-01, where 26D is the satin chrome finish code. Quote the full model string if you want to be sure the finish comes through on the order.
5) Is the 74468 riser plate suitable for a high-traffic commercial building, or is it a residential part?
Commercial. It is built to the standards of Dormakaba's commercial hardware line and is used in offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, industrial and warehouse buildings, multi-tenant residential properties, and government buildings. The satin chrome finish is corrosion resistant for those environments.
