Dormakaba 7466000001 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the combination chamber do in a Simplex pushbutton lock?
The combination chamber is the internal mechanism that holds the code in a Simplex mechanical pushbutton lock. It is sold as a replacement part, so it's what you order when the buttons still press but the lock won't recognize or accept the combination, rather than replacing the whole lockset. Dormakaba part 74660-000-01.
2) Is the Dormakaba Simplex combination chamber a commercial-duty part or for residential locks?
Commercial. It's a door hardware service part for Simplex mechanical pushbutton locks, the kind specified on office suites, stockrooms, mechanical rooms and multi-family common doors. For a property manager standardizing a building on Simplex, keeping chambers on the shelf means a failed code mechanism gets swapped instead of the whole lock.
3) How do I order the Dormakaba 74660-000-01 combination chamber, and does it come in options?
One configuration only, model 7466000001. There's no handing, finish or size to specify, since the chamber sits inside the lock case and never shows on the door face. You order the one part and match it to the Simplex series you're servicing.
