1) What does the Dormakaba CF10004 firmware chip actually do?
It is the PC1097 ACU system and reader firmware that lets the access control unit read dormakaba's 17 byte lodging and multihousing credential format. Without it, SRK series readers on the panel won't interpret that credential format. It is firmware on a chip, not a reader or a lock part.
2) Which Keyscan access control panels does the PC1097 CF10004 firmware work with?
The PC1097 firmware works with the CA250, CA4500 and CA8500 ACUs. It also supports the EC1500 and EC2500 elevator floor control panels, so a hotel or multi-family job using elevator floor control off the same credential can use the same chip.
3) Do I have to supply anything when ordering the CF10004 firmware chip?
Yes. The ACU system serial number is required at time of order, unless you are ordering the chip on the same order as the ACUs themselves. Have the panel serial in hand before you place the order to avoid a hold.
4) Will this firmware let my existing readers accept dormakaba lodging credentials?
It is written for the SRK series of readers, to integrate them with dormakaba Lodging and Multihousing applications. If your openings use SRK readers on a CA250, CA4500 or CA8500 panel, that is the combination this firmware is intended for. Readers outside the SRK series are not covered.
5) Is the CF10004 chip a standard distribution item or a factory order?
It is a direct Keyscan purchase item and is not available through distribution. Plan the order path accordingly on a multi-building rollout, and treat it as a scheduled item rather than a shelf part.
