Dormakaba FMC TS93 693 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Dormakaba FMC-TS93 metal cover fit any door closer, or only the TS93?
Only the TS93. The FMC-TS93 full metal cover is made for the Dormakaba TS93 closer body specifically, so it seats correctly without modification. It will not fit other closer series, so check the model stamped on the closer body before ordering.
2) Do the end caps come with the FMC-TS93 cover or do I order them separately?
End caps are included. The FMC-TS93 ships as a full metal cover with matching end caps, so the exposed ends of the TS93 closer body are finished with the same order, nothing extra to source.
3) Can I replace just a cracked closer cover instead of the whole TS93 unit?
Yes, the cover is sold on its own. If the TS93 closer still operates correctly and only the shell is damaged or missing, the FMC-TS93 restores protection and appearance without touching the closer body or resetting the arm. It is a cover assembly only, so no closer, arm or mounting hardware is included.
4) What finishes does the FMC-TS93 cover come in?
Two: 693 black and 695 dark bronze. If you are covering several TS93 closers across a building, pick the one that matches the closers and trim already installed, since those are the only finish options on this cover.
5) Is a full metal cover worth it over a plastic closer cover in a school or hospital corridor?
In high traffic it is. The FMC-TS93 is a metal body rather than plastic, so it takes impacts and wear better and shields the closer internals from dust and incidental contact. That is the reason it gets specified in schools, healthcare, retail and warehouse openings.
6) Is the FMC-TS93 a genuine Dormakaba part or an aftermarket cover?
Genuine Dormakaba. The FMC-TS93 is the factory replacement cover for the TS93 series, catalogued as a Dormakaba replacement part, so fit and finish match the original closer rather than approximating it.
7) Is the FMC-TS93 cover rated for commercial use?
It is built to Dormakaba's commercial standards and listed for commercial rather than residential application, which is why it turns up on office, government and multi-tenant residential corridor doors where the TS93 is the standard closer.
