Mustee 557WHT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Mustee 557WHT a bathtub or just the surround walls?
Walls only. The 557WHT is a three-piece style Durawall tub wall surround in white fiberglass that mounts to the studs or existing wall above an alcove tub. The tub itself is a separate purchase, as are the adhesive, sealant and any trim you use at the ceiling and outside edges.
2) What color and material is the Mustee Durawall 557WHT tub surround?
White fiberglass. That is the only configuration this model is sold in, which matters if you are standardizing units across a property. A fiberglass surround takes a solvent-free panel adhesive and cuts with standard tools for the valve and spout openings, unlike an acrylic or a tile-board panel.
3) I manage apartments and need one tub surround that works across units with different tub sizes. Does this one cover both?
That is what the 557WHT is built for. One part number covers 30 x 60 and 32 x 60 alcove tubs, so you can stock a single surround for a building where the tubs vary between the two standard depths instead of carrying two SKUs. All units come out the same white, so replacements down the road match what is already installed.
