Mustee 56WHT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Mustee 56WHT Durawall tub wall kit fit a standard 5-foot alcove?
The 56WHT Durawall bathtub wall fits alcoves up to 42 by 72 inches, so a standard 60 inch (5 foot) tub alcove is well inside that range. The 42 inch figure is the wall height coverage and 72 the run; measure your alcove opening at the back wall and both end walls before ordering, since the kit covers up to those numbers rather than expanding past them.
2) Is the Mustee 56WHT a bathtub or just the surround walls?
It is the wall surround only, not a tub. The 56WHT Durawall is a bathtub wall kit in white that lines the three walls of an alcove around a tub you already have or are buying separately. If you need the bathing fixture itself, you are looking for a separate tub.
3) Can I use the Mustee 56WHT Durawall in a rental unit alcove that already has a tub in place?
Yes, that is exactly the application. The Durawall 56WHT is a wall surround for an existing alcove up to 42 by 72 inches, so it goes in over the three walls around a tub that stays put. It does not require pulling the tub, which is why it turns up in apartment and multi-family refresh work.
4) What color is the Mustee 56WHT Durawall surround?
White. The 56WHT is the white version of the Durawall bathtub wall, which is the color that matches standard white alcove tubs and the one property managers keep on hand for turnovers across a building.
5) What is the manufacturer part number for the Mustee white Durawall tub surround?
Order it as Mustee 56WHT. That single model number covers the white Durawall bathtub wall for alcoves up to 42 by 72 inches, and it is the number to give a distributor so you get the white finish rather than another color in the Durawall line.
