B-LINE SB60408404TG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What are the overall dimensions of the B-Line SB60408404TG distribution frame?
The SB60408404TG measures 84 inches high, 30 inches wide, and 43.62 inches deep. That depth is what catches people out: it is a double sided frame, so it needs floor clearance and working room on both faces, not just one. At 84 inches tall it also wants a room with enough ceiling height for overhead cable tray or ladder rack above the frame.
2) How many verticals and shelves come on the SB60408404TG frame?
Four verticals with eight shelves, configured double sided. The shelves carry the terminal blocks and the verticals organize the cross connect wiring between them, so the count is what sets how many blocks you can land on one frame footprint before you need to add a second frame.
3) What is a universal distribution frame used for in a telecom or electrical room?
It supports terminal blocks for central cross connects, which is the point in a building where incoming service pairs are terminated and jumpered out to the station side. The SB60408404TG is the double sided version, so blocks mount on both faces and jumpers run through the verticals between them. If you only need one termination face against a wall, a single sided frame is the better fit for the room.
4) What part number do I order for the double sided 4-vertical, 8-shelf B-Line distribution frame?
Order Eaton B-Line SB60408404TG. That single MPN covers the complete double sided frame, 4 verticals with 8 shelves, 84 inches tall. Terminal blocks themselves are a separate line item, so specify those to match the pair count you are cross connecting.
5) Is the Eaton B-Line SB60408404TG frame steel or aluminum?
Steel. For an MRO or facilities buyer standardizing a communications room, that means a rigid frame that takes the static load of fully populated blocks, and it means the frame should be bonded to the room's telecom ground bar like any other metallic rack in the space.
