B-LINE 1412TS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line 1412TS terminal block kit UL Listed for use on an inspected job?
Yes. The 1412TS terminal strap carries a UL Listed certification, which is what an AHJ or an institutional spec typically calls for on terminal block mounting hardware.
2) How does the B-Line 1412TS terminal strap mount, and do I need struct channel already in place?
It is a channel mount strap, so it is designed to attach to B-Line strut channel rather than directly to a wall or backplate. If there is no channel run at the location yet, you will need to order the channel and its fasteners separately to complete the install.
3) Is the 1412TS the terminal block itself or just the mounting strap?
The 1412TS is a terminal strap, the steel member that carries terminal blocks on a channel run. It is not a terminal block, a rail, or a wiring device, so the blocks themselves are ordered separately to suit your conductor size and circuit count.
4) What is the Eaton B-Line 1412TS terminal strap made of, and will it hold up in a damp electrical room?
Model 1412TS is built from electro galvanized steel in a 10 gauge material thickness. Electro galvanizing gives it a zinc coating suited to dry or protected indoor locations such as electrical rooms and equipment closets. For wet, washdown, or outdoor exposure, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless strap instead.
5) What are the dimensions of the 1412TS terminal strap so I can lay out my panel space?
Published dimensions are 14 in height, 14 in length/depth, and 12 in width, at a weight of 2.479 lb. Use those figures to confirm the strap clears adjacent conduit runs and gutter space before you set the channel.
6) How do I order the right B-Line terminal strap, and are there other sizes or finishes?
B-Line offers this terminal strap as a single configuration, model 1412TS in electro galvanized steel. There is no finish or length option to pick, so ordering is simply the 1412TS part number by quantity.
