The ADI-50SS4 drop-in anchor is specified for solid concrete only. Hollow block, brick, and mortar joints move the load path away from what a drop-in anchor's expansion relies on, so for those bases you need a base material rated differently. Stick to poured solid concrete with this one.

The ADI-50SS4 is type 304 stainless steel, which is what you want where the anchor sees moisture or washdown: parking structures, exterior decks, food processing, pools, plant ceilings. In dry interior concrete a plated carbon steel drop-in will do the same mechanical job, so the stainless version is about corrosion life, not holding style.

A drop-in like the ADI-50SS4 is set flush and internally threaded, so nothing protrudes until you thread the rod in, and the rod can be removed and replaced later. A wedge anchor leaves a permanent stud hanging out of the slab, which is awkward overhead and fixes your rod length. For rod-hung conduit, tray, or pipe from a deck, the flush internally threaded anchor is the normal pick, and this one is specified for overhead work.
