B-LINE AF6018SP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Eaton B-Line AF6018SP rated for a NEMA 12 enclosure?
Yes. The AF6018SP side panel and center post carries a NEMA 12 degree of protection and is UL Listed, so it keeps the dust-tight and drip-tight rating of a NEMA 12 free-standing enclosure intact when installed as intended.
2) What exactly comes in the B-Line AF6018SP kit, or do I need to buy mounting hardware separately?
The kit ships with all hardware needed for bracket assembly, so you are not sourcing fasteners separately. What you get is the stainless side panel plus the center post itself.
3) What size enclosure does the AF6018SP side panel fit?
Dimensionally the part measures 48.37 in height, 48.37 in length/depth and 13.87 in width, which is what determines the frame it lands on. Match those figures against the free-standing enclosure frame you are building out before ordering.
4) Is the AF6018SP a complete enclosure or just an accessory panel?
It is an accessory, not an enclosure. The AF6018SP is a stainless side panel with a center post for a free-standing enclosure, so you need the enclosure frame and body already in place for it to mount to.
5) Why would I use a side panel with a center post instead of a plain side panel?
The center post is what you need when two enclosure sections are joined side by side or when a tall panel run needs intermediate support and a sealing surface. A plain side panel closes off a single bay; the AF6018SP combination closes the bay and gives you the post at the same time, with the bracket hardware included.
6) Is the AF6018SP panel stainless steel or painted steel?
Stainless. It is specified as a stainless panel, which is the reason it gets used in wash-down adjacent and food, beverage and pharma plant settings where a painted carbon steel side panel would not hold up.
7) What is the manufacturer part number to order this B-Line side panel by?
Order it as Eaton B-Line AF6018SP. That is the single model this part is sold under, so there is no size or finish option to specify on the order.
