B-LINE 32512 10 AL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size opening or span does the B-Line Grip Strut three diamond plank cover?
Each plank runs 120 inches long by 7 inches wide, with a 2.5 inch channel size giving it 2.5 inches of height. Lay planks side by side to build up the walking width you need, and cut to length for shorter runs between supports.
2) Is Grip Strut plank OSHA compliant for a work platform walkway?
Yes, the three diamond Grip Strut plank is OSHA compliant, and the diamond-punched surface is intended for non-slip footing on platforms, catwalks and stair treads where wet, oily or icy conditions are a factor.
3) Will aluminum Grip Strut hold up outdoors or in a corrosive area?
Aluminum is the material here, so it resists rust without needing galvanizing or paint, which is why it gets specified for outdoor platforms, wash-down areas and chemical or coastal environments. If you need a steel plank instead for higher loading, that is a different part number in the same Grip Strut family.
4) How thick is the material on the 32512 10 AL Grip Strut plank?
It is formed from 14 gauge aluminum, .080 inch thick. That is the gauge that decides how far you can span between supports, so match it against your framing layout before you set support spacing.
5) What is the difference between three diamond Grip Strut plank and a wider grating panel?
Three diamond refers to the number of diamond rows across the 7 inch width, so this plank is sized for a narrow walkway, a single stair tread or a ladder-style crossover run. For a full platform deck you either gang several 7 inch planks together on the same supports or move to a wider grating panel with more diamond rows.
6) Does Grip Strut plank come with mounting hardware or clips?
The 32512 10 AL is the plank itself. Saddle clips, hold-down clamps or bolts to fasten it to your support steel are ordered separately, so add fasteners to the order based on your framing member and spacing.
