B-LINE BKBM8-094-40 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the M6 bolt end on the B-Line KwikWire BKBM8-094-40 attach to?
The BKBM8-094-40 is a KwikWire hanging kit with a bolt M6 thread termination, so the fixture end lands on anything with an M6 threaded hole or an M6 clearance hole: light fixture housings, tray brackets, or equipment ears tapped for 6mm metric thread. There is no sawing, filing, or fixing nuts involved, it is an assembly-only termination.
2) How long is the wire on the BKBM8-094-40 and what diameter is it?
Wire length is 40 inches with a maximum wire diameter of .093 inch (3/32). That 40 inches is the usable drop, so for suspending a fixture more than about three feet below the structure you need a longer wire length in the same KwikWire family rather than splicing this one.
3) Can I use a KwikWire hanger instead of drilling anchors into the deck?
That is the point of it. The KwikWire system is made to install without drilling into the existing structure, so you hang off existing steel, bar joist, or purlins rather than shooting anchors into concrete deck. Good fit for tenant fit-outs and retrofits where you cannot disturb the slab.
4) Do I need to cut or thread the wire on site with the KwikWire bolt termination?
No cutting or threading. The wire comes pre-terminated at 40 inches with the M6 bolt fitting already assembled, so field work is assembly only, no sawing, filing, or fixing nuts. Excess wire is taken up at the gripper rather than trimmed to length before install.
5) What is the exact part number and shipping weight for ordering this KwikWire kit?
Order it as Eaton B-Line BKBM8-094-40. The kit weighs 1.616 lb, which matters when you are pricing a pallet of a few hundred for a warehouse relight.
