The B-Line 4A-24-VT36 is a vertical tee down: it takes a straight horizontal cable tray run and drops a branch downward from it, so you get three legs off one fitting instead of cutting and splicing a straight section. Plan for the fitting's own footprint of 39 inches along the run, with the 36 inch radius controlling the vertical drop. That radius is the part people underestimate: on a 36 inch radius bend the branch needs roughly three feet of clear vertical space below the run before the tray is running straight again. Check your ceiling grid, duct, and pipe before locating the tee.

Use a vertical tee down when the main run continues straight through and you need a branch dropping off it. If the run simply turns downward and does not continue, a vertical elbow is the correct fitting. If the branch rises instead of drops, you want the vertical tee up.
