B-LINE 24A09-18-120 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will 9 inch rung spacing support small diameter control and instrumentation cable?
The 24A09 series runs rungs on 9 inch centers, which is the wider of the common ladder spacings. It suits larger power feeders well. For small diameter control, instrumentation, or fiber, most installers either drop to a tighter rung spacing or add tray bottom to avoid cable sag between rungs.
2) Can I mix this 18 inch section with other widths in the same B-Line series 24 run?
Width changes in a ladder run are handled with a reducer fitting, not by butting two different widths together. This piece is the 18 inch wide member of the series 24 straight sections; matching the 4.12 inch rail height across the run is what keeps splice plates and hangers consistent.
3) What is the exact part number to order for the 18 inch by 10 foot B-Line aluminum ladder tray?
Order Eaton B-Line model 24A09-18-120. The number reads as series 24, aluminum, 9 inch rung spacing, 18 inch width, 120 inch length, which is how the rest of the series is coded too.
4) Does this B-Line cable tray carry any certification marking?
The 24A09 aluminum straight section is CE marked. That is the only marking carried on the record for this part, so if your specification calls out a different listing, verify against the project spec before substituting.
