The Eaton B-Line 6A-24-LR18 is a Series 2-5 left reducer for imperial cable tray. It transitions a 24 inch wide tray down to an 18 inch wide tray, with the offset taken on the left side so the right side rail stays in a straight line. That matters on a run following a wall or a straight support line: pick the left reducer when you want the reduction to happen on the left rail as you look along the tray in the direction of the reduction.

A left reducer like the 6A-24-LR18 keeps one side rail in line and takes the whole 24 inch to 18 inch width change on the left rail. Use it when the tray runs tight to a wall or structure on the right, or when the cables need to stay against the right rail. A right reducer does the mirror image. A straight (centered) reducer splits the offset evenly on both sides and is the one to use when the tray is centered on a support line or hung from trapeze hangers that need to stay symmetric.

Aluminum. It resists corrosion better than plain or painted steel, which is why aluminum tray is common outdoors, in plant areas, and anywhere humidity or wash-down is a factor, and it is lighter to handle on a lift. If your specification calls for hot dip galvanized steel or stainless tray, this fitting will not match the run material.

Order Eaton B-Line part 6A-24-LR18. The number reads directly: 6 inch depth, aluminum, 24 inch nominal width, left reducer to 18 inch. It ships as the fitting only, so order your splice plates and hardware for both ends separately along with the hangers at the transition.

3.86 lb for the fitting. Aluminum construction keeps the dead load low, which is why it is common on long overhead runs where support spacing and trapeze capacity are the limit. Add your cable fill weight to that when you size hangers at the transition.

The 6A-24-LR18 reducer is CE marked. If your submittal needs anything beyond that marking for the fitting, confirm it against the project specification.
