A vertical outside bend carries a cable tray run over a change in elevation where the tray turns away from the cable, like going up and over a beam or duct. The Eaton B-Line 6A-18-30VO36 handles a 30 degree change of direction on a 36 inch radius. If your run drops down instead, so the cables sit on the inside of the turn, you want the vertical inside bend version rather than this one.

Figure 23.598 inches of length for the fitting itself, on a 36 inch radius. Lay that out before you cut your straight sections, because the bend eats into the run at both the approach and the exit and the radius is what sets the sweep.

Aluminum. It is lighter to handle overhead and resists corrosion without a coating, which is why aluminum tray is common in plants and exterior runs. Keep the whole run in one material where you can, since mixing aluminum fittings into a steel tray run brings dissimilar metal contact at the splice plates.

The 6A-18-30VO36 is the bend fitting itself. Splice plates, hardware, and any hangers or supports at the bend are ordered separately, so add the matching Series 2-5 splice connectors for each end of the fitting when you place the order.

6.9 lb. One person can set it on the trapeze hangers, though on an 18 inch wide fitting at elevation two sets of hands make the splice bolt-up a lot easier.
