The 12106-SDF carries a NEMA 4X rating, so it is built for wet locations, outdoor exposure and hose-down or corrosive environments. The fiberglass body and the seamless poured in-place gasket are what get it there, and the hardware is stainless screws so the closure points don't rust out. It is also UL 50 listed.

It measures 13.45 in height, 11.83 in width and 6.31 in depth, and weighs 6 lb empty. Lay your backplate, breakers or terminal blocks against that 6.31 in depth before you commit, since door-mounted devices eat into it.

It is a wall-mount enclosure, and external mounting feet are an option rather than something included. Order the feet separately if you are surface-mounting to a wall or strut, otherwise you have no mounting provision outside the sealed interior. Drilling the back wall of a 4X fiberglass box is not the answer, since it breaks the rating.

Fiberglass doesn't corrode the way a painted steel box does once the coating is scratched, which is the usual failure on a wastewater, coastal or chemical-area install. The 12106-SDF is fiberglass throughout with stainless screws, so there is no mild steel at the fasteners either. Steel is still the choice where you need impact resistance or want to weld on mounting brackets.

Hinged. The SDF is a medium single-door style with a hinged cover, so the door stays with the box when you open it for service instead of having to be set aside on a ladder or in the mud. Closure is hinged with stainless screws.

The 12106-SDF is the enclosure itself: fiberglass body, hinged cover, poured in-place gasket and stainless screws. A panel or backplate and external mounting feet are separate items, so add both to the order if your layout calls for them.

At 13.45 by 11.83 inches with 6.31 inches of depth, the SDF suits a small control station, terminal blocks, a relay group or a remote I/O drop. It is a medium single-door box, not a full motor control panel. If you are stacking contactors or need door-mounted pilot devices plus deep components, size up before you fight the 6.31 in depth.

Grey, and unfinished, which is standard for molded fiberglass. The color is in the material rather than a coating, so scuffs during installation won't expose a different substrate underneath.

Country of origin is the US. That matters on public works and government jobs where domestic-sourcing language shows up in the spec, so it is worth noting on the submittal along with the UL 50 listing.
