B-LINE SB864812D066SL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size opening does the B-Line SB864812D066SL vertical cable manager take up in a rack lineup?
The B-Line SB864812D066SL double sided vertical cable manager measures 60.375 inches high, 17.875 inches deep and 12 inches wide. That 12 inch width is the bay it consumes between racks, and the 17.875 inch depth is what you need clear front to back, so plan aisle and frame spacing around those two numbers before you set the racks.
2) Is the SB864812D066SL a full cable manager or just the cover?
It is the RCM rack mounted double sided vertical cable manager cover, with a low density plastic gate style. The required number of gates and mounting hardware are covered as part of it, so you are getting the gate set and fasteners rather than a bare panel.
3) Can I mount a PDU to this Eaton B-Line vertical manager?
Yes, the SB864812D066SL uses direct PDU mounting, so a power distribution unit fastens straight to the manager body instead of needing a separate bracket kit or taking up rack units in the frame.
4) Is a low density gate manager enough for a switch-heavy cabinet?
Low density gates suit openings with varying cable requirements rather than a fully loaded patch field. If you are bundling high port-count switches with dense copper, choose a high density gate arrangement instead. The double sided build does let you split routing front and rear, which spreads the fill.
5) Is the Eaton B-Line SB864812D066SL UL listed?
Yes. The SB864812D066SL carries UL certification, which is usually what a facility or institutional spec is asking for on data center cable management.
6) Will this cable manager match the finish of silver open frame racks already installed?
The finish is a silver powder coat over aluminum, with black plastic components for the gates. Against existing silver or clear-anodized aluminum open frame racks it reads as a match; against black racks it will not.
7) What is the exact part number to order this Eaton B-Line cable manager?
Order it as B-Line SB864812D066SL, an Eaton B-Line series item. That single number covers the 12 inch wide, 60.375 inch tall double sided manager in silver powder coat with the low density plastic gate.
