B-LINE SB864810D096SL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size opening does the B-Line SB864810D096SL vertical cable manager take up in a rack row?
The B-Line SB864810D096SL double sided vertical cable manager measures 90.125 inches high, 10 inches wide and 17.875 inches deep. Plan for a 10 inch wide bay between racks or at the end of a row, and confirm your rack height is at least 90.125 inches of usable frame so the manager runs the full vertical span.
2) Can I mount PDUs inside this B-Line vertical cable manager?
Yes. The SB864810D096SL is built for direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU fastens into the manager channel itself rather than eating rack units in the frame. That keeps the 90.125 inch vertical run available for both power and cable routing on each side.
3) Do the gates and mounting hardware come with the SB864810D096SL, or do I order them separately?
The required number of gates and the mounting hardware are included with this assembly. The gates are low density plastic and the covers snap on, so no separate latch kit is needed to close the channel.
4) Is the B-Line SB864810D096SL a rack or just the cable management for one?
It is the vertical cable manager with covers, part of the Eaton B-Line open frame rack system, not a complete equipment rack. It bolts alongside the rack frame and carries the cable bundles and a directly mounted PDU. You still need the open frame rack itself.
5) Does this cable manager route cable on both sides of the rack?
It is a double sided vertical manager, with a snap on gate on both sides so either face opens quickly for adds and moves. Front and rear cable bundles stay separated instead of sharing one channel.
6) Is this aluminum cable manager UL listed for a data center or institutional install?
UL is the certification carried on the B-Line SB864810D096SL. The frame is aluminum with a silver powder coat finish and black plastic components, which is what most facility specs call out for open frame rack rooms.
7) Will the silver finish match my existing black open frame racks?
No. This manager ships in silver powder coat with black plastic gate components. If your row is black, the vertical channel will not match visually, so order the silver only where your racks are silver or appearance is not part of the spec.
