B-LINE SB862810S096SL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is this cable manager single sided or double sided?
Single sided. The B-Line RCM vertical cable manager in this configuration routes and covers cable on one face only, so cable dressed on the back side of the rack stays exposed. If you need both faces enclosed, specify a double sided RCM manager instead.
2) Can I mount a vertical PDU behind this B-Line cable manager?
Yes, it is built for direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU attaches to the manager channel itself rather than eating rack units or needing separate PDU brackets. That is the main reason to pick this configuration over a plain cable channel.
3) What is the difference between a low density plastic gate manager and a full cover manager?
The low density plastic gate style used on the SB862810S096SL uses hinged plastic gates instead of a solid door, so cable can be pushed in from the side anywhere along the 90.125 inch height and added later without pulling a cover. Low density means it is sized for lighter bundle counts, typical of a patch field or a PDU-side channel rather than a high count trunk riser. If you are filling the full 10 inch width with copper trunks, step up to a higher density manager with a door.
4) Does the B-Line SB862810S096SL come with the mounting hardware, or do I order that separately?
It ships with the vertical cable section and push in fasteners, so no separate clip kit is needed to assemble and attach the channel. Rack-to-manager bolts vary by frame, so check what your open frame rack uses.
5) Is this cable manager UL listed for a data center or institutional install?
The B-Line RCM cable manager carries a UL certification, which is usually what a facility or spec reviewer wants to see on rack mounted cable management in a commercial or institutional equipment room.
6) Will the silver finish on this manager match my existing black racks?
No. This one is silver powder coat aluminum with black plastic gate components, so on a black rack lineup it reads as a mismatch. Silver powder coat is the right pick alongside aluminum or silver open frame racks; for black frames, order the black finish version of the RCM manager.
