B-LINE SB5468108TG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB5468108TG rack rated for seismic zone 4 installations?
Yes. The SB5468108TG is a seismic zone 4 network bay closed duct rack, so it is built for the highest seismic zone classification used in the older UBC zone system. That matters for central offices, data centers and hospital telecom rooms where the structural engineer calls out seismic-rated racking. It is also UL Listed.
2) What is the SB5468108TG made of and how is it finished?
Steel construction with a telco gray powder coat. That is the standard finish in central office and network equipment rooms, so it will match existing Eaton B-Line bays and most other telco-gray ironwork already in the room.
3) What does the top angle style mean on this Eaton B-Line network bay rack?
Top angle style means the bay is built with angle stock at the top of the uprights, which is what overhead cable runway and auxiliary framing bolt to. If your design has ladder rack running above the bays, this is the configuration you want, rather than a plain flat-top frame.
4) Is this an open frame rack or an enclosed cabinet?
The SB5468108TG is an open frame rack, part of the Eaton B-Line series of open frame racks, not a sealed enclosure. Open bays give you all-around access for terminating and dressing cable and let heat off the equipment freely, but they offer no physical security or dust protection. If the room is not already access controlled, a locking cabinet is the better choice.
