B-LINE SB862810S066EW – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB862810S066EW a full rack or just a cable manager?
It's a vertical cable manager, not a rack frame. Eaton catalogs it as an RCM rack mounted vertical cable manager, double sided, in the B-Line open frame rack family. It bolts to the rack uprights and organizes cable up and down the side of the rack; it does not stand on its own or hold equipment.
2) How tall is the B-Line SB862810S066EW vertical cable manager, and will it fit a standard 45U open frame rack?
Height is 60.375 inches, with a 2.625 inch width and 3 inch depth. That height suits a rack section of roughly the same usable height, so measure the mounting rail run on your frame before ordering. Weight is 8.9 pounds, so one person can hang it.
3) Can I mount a vertical PDU to the B-Line SB862810S066EW?
Yes. The mounting method is direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU can be attached to the manager rather than eating rack units or occupying a separate mounting channel.
4) Can cable pass from the manager into the rack, or does it only run vertically?
There's a pass through opening for cable routing, so patch cords can break out of the vertical channel into the rack at the point they're needed instead of being carried to the top or bottom. The manager also includes a vertical cabling section.
5) Does this cable manager have covers or a door?
It uses a low density plastic gate rather than a solid snap-on cover, so cable is retained but stays accessible without removing a panel. Body is aluminum in Eaton white powder coat with black plastic components.
6) Will this white cable manager match my existing black racks?
No. The SB862810S066EW is finished in white, Eaton white powder coat with black plastic components. If your data room is standardized on black frames, order the black equivalent in the same RCM family instead of mixing finishes.
7) Do I need one of these per rack side, or does one cover both?
It's a double sided manager, so it handles cable on the front and rear faces from a single 2.625 inch wide body mounted between or beside racks. For a bayed row, plan one between each pair of frames plus one at each end.
8) What is the exact part number to order this Eaton B-Line white vertical cable manager?
Order Eaton B-Line MPN SB862810S066EW. That's the white, double sided, 60.375 inch RCM vertical cable manager with the plastic gate.
