B-LINE AW66GP – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size enclosure does the B-Line AW66GP back panel fit?
The AW66GP panel is made for 6 inch by 6 inch enclosures, which is the JIC and small panel size range Eaton B-Line builds this plate for. If your box is a different footprint, this plate is the wrong part - the panel has to match the enclosure's internal mounting pattern.
2) What are the actual panel dimensions on the B-Line AW66GP?
The plate measures 6 in, 4.87 in and 4.875 in across its stated width, height and depth dimensions, so the steel is cut smaller than the 6 x 6 box it drops into - that undersize is deliberate, it clears the enclosure's corner welds and mounting studs. Weight is .471 lb.
3) Is the AW66GP back panel galvanized or painted steel?
Galvanized steel with a smooth brushed finish, not a painted white panel. The zinc coating is the corrosion protection, so it holds up better than bare steel in damp mechanical rooms or unconditioned spaces. If your spec calls for a white painted panel for contrast against wiring, this is not that part.
4) Does this Eaton B-Line panel carry a CSA listing for Canadian jobs?
CSA C22.2 is the certification carried on the AW66GP panel, which is what a Canadian inspector looks for on electrical enclosure components. Worth noting on cross-border work where a US-only listing gets flagged.
5) What is a back panel for inside a junction or control enclosure?
It is the flat steel plate that mounts inside the box and gives you something to drill and tap for terminal blocks, relays, DIN rail, or a small controller. You never fasten components straight to the enclosure wall on a rated box - that breaches the rating. The AW66GP is the galvanized steel version for 6 x 6 JIC and small panel enclosures.
6) Does the AW66GP panel come with mounting screws or standoffs?
What ships is the galvanized steel plate itself. Panel mounting hardware is normally supplied with the enclosure, so if you are ordering this as a replacement or a spare for a box already in service, check that the original studs and nuts are still in the box before you get to site.
