B-LINE 12PMK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is included in the Eaton B-Line 12PMK pole mounting kit?
The 12PMK kit ships with strut channel for mounting an enclosure to a pole, using top and bottom mounting points. Hardware is stainless steel. The enclosure itself is not part of the kit, so you order the cabinet separately.
2) Will a pole mounting kit like the B-Line 12PMK hold up outdoors on a utility pole?
Yes. The 12PMK is stainless steel and rated NEMA 4, so it suits outdoor pole mounting where the assembly sees rain, splashing water and hose-directed water. It is also UL Listed.
3) What size enclosure does the B-Line 12PMK pole mounting kit suit?
The 12PMK is the 12 inch kit: height, width and depth are each listed at 12 in, which lines it up with a 12 inch Premier series enclosure back. If your cabinet is larger, step up to the matching kit size for that enclosure rather than forcing this one.
4) Does the B-Line 12PMK break the NEMA 4 rating of my enclosure when I mount it?
No. The kit mounts at top and bottom rather than through the enclosure body, and it carries a NEMA 4 rating itself, so a NEMA 4 Premier series cabinet stays sealed when it is hung with this kit.
5) Can I use the B-Line 12PMK to wall mount instead of pole mount?
It is built as a pole mounting kit, with strut channel that spans the pole and ties to the enclosure top and bottom. For a flat wall, use standard back-panel or wall mounting feet instead; the strut standoff here is there to clear a round pole.
6) Do I need banding or straps in addition to the 12PMK strut channel?
The 12PMK supplies the strut channel and the stainless steel mounting hardware for the top and bottom attachment. Whatever clamps the strut to your particular pole, wood lag screws, U-bolts or stainless banding, depends on the pole and is a separate buy.
7) Is the Eaton B-Line 12PMK UL Listed for use on an electrical enclosure installation?
Yes, the 12PMK pole mounting kit is UL Listed and rated NEMA 4, which is what an inspector or facility spec typically asks for on outdoor enclosure mounting hardware.
8) How heavy is the B-Line 12PMK kit for a one-man install up a pole?
2.887 lb for the kit, so it is a one-hand lift. The weight you have to plan for is the enclosure it carries, not the bracket set.
