Back-to-back means two 1-5/8 inch wide channel sections welded spine to spine, giving a 3.25 inch overall height with a slotted face on both sides. Use it for trapeze hangers with long spans, tall rack uprights, and pipe or conduit racks where a single channel would deflect. For short hangers and light conduit runs on tight centers, a single-channel strut is lighter and cheaper to hang.

Yes. The B11 is built from standard 1-5/8 inch wide channel sections, so ordinary 1-5/8 inch strut nuts, channel nuts, clamps, and fittings engage the slotted face. Fittings that bolt across the face, like post bases and splice plates, need to suit a 3.25 inch back-to-back profile rather than a single 1-5/8 channel.

The A in B11A designates the solid-back version, with no knockouts or slots punched through the back of the channel. Order a slotted variant if you need to run threaded rod or fasteners through the back at any point along the run rather than only at the open face.

The channel ships as bare stick only. Plan on 1-5/8 inch channel nuts with springs, hex bolts and washers, threaded rod and rod couplings for overhead hangers, post bases or brackets at the wall or floor, conduit or pipe clamps sized to what you are supporting, and end caps. None of that is included with the 240 inch length.
