B-Line B281SQSS4 Eaton series strut fittings and accessories, 3.5" Height, 6" Length, 6" Width, 4.00lbs, Steel, Square post base, centered, Post base for B22A, B, C, Stainless steel type 304

The B281SQSS4 is stainless steel type 304, which is the grade normally specified for outdoor and rooftop strut supports where a plated or painted base would rust out. Note the material field lists steel with a type 304 stainless finish designation, so order it where you want the corrosion resistance of 304 rather than pre-galvanized.

It measures 6 x 6 inches with a 3.5 inch height, and weighs 4 lb. The 6 by 6 inch square plate is what you need to allow for on the slab or curb when you lay out anchor locations, and the 3.5 inch height is the sleeve depth the strut post seats into.

Centered means the strut socket sits in the middle of the 6 x 6 inch plate, so the post load is directly over the center of the anchor pattern and the base looks the same from every side. That matters for freestanding posts, rooftop equipment stands and sign posts where the post is not bearing against a wall. If you need the post flush to an edge or wall face, you want an offset or flush base instead, not this one.

No. The B281SQSS4 is supplied as the post base only. Concrete anchors or through-bolts for fastening to the slab, and the bolts or hardware tying the B22 strut post into the base, are separate items you add to the order.

Order it as B-Line B281SQSS4, from the Eaton B-Line strut fittings and accessories line. That single model number covers the 304 stainless centered square post base for B22A, B and C channel.
