B-LINE IPH18230 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is B-Line IPH18230 actually used for on a pipe support job?
IPH18230 is Aramaflex insulation tape from the Eaton B-Line strut pipe clamp and accessory line. It is used with the Armafix IPH series insulation pipe hangers, wrapping the hanger/insulation area so the support detail stays continuous at the clamp point. It is not a clamp itself, so it gets ordered alongside the hanger rather than in place of it.
2) How much tape comes on a roll of B-Line IPH18230 and how wide is it?
Each roll is a 30 foot length, and the tape measures 2.625 inches. One roll covers the hanger locations it is sized for, so count your Armafix IPH hanger points and order roll quantity against that rather than by linear run of pipe.
3) Is the B-Line IPH18230 insulation tape UL Listed for electrical and mechanical work?
The IPH18230 Aramaflex tape carries a UL Listing. That is the only rating stated for it, so if a submittal calls for a specific flame-spread or smoke-developed index, verify that against the spec section before you close out the detail.
4) Will IPH18230 tape work with any brand of insulated pipe hanger?
It is specified for use with the Armafix IPH series. Pairing it with another manufacturer's insulated hanger shield is outside what Eaton B-Line states for this tape, so for a mixed-brand support system, use the tape the hanger maker calls for.
5) Is B-Line IPH18230 a single part number or are there multiple sizes to choose from?
IPH18230 is ordered as one model, one configuration. There are no size, color, or length options to specify, so the part number alone is enough for a purchase order or a submittal line.
