A nipple section is the short connector piece that joins two wireway sections or ties a wireway to an enclosure. The Eaton B-Line 66-4XSFN3 is a feed-through nipple section for 6 x 6 inch wireway, measuring 2.938 inches deep, so it passes conductors straight through a short gap rather than turning or terminating the run.

It carries a NEMA 4X rating and is made of stainless steel, so it suits washdown, food processing, coastal, and wet outdoor locations where painted steel would corrode. 4X covers hosedown, windblown dust and rain, and corrosion resistance. The joint gasketing and hardware still have to be installed per the wireway manufacturer's instructions for the rating to hold across the run.

UL Listed, which is what most AHJs look for on wireway components in a commercial or industrial job. Keep the 4X rating intact across the whole run if the enclosure schedule calls for it, since one non-rated fitting downgrades the assembly.

Three nipples on this feed-through section, so it supports three separate pass-through paths between wireway sections or into adjacent enclosures rather than a single opening.

Use the feed-through nipple, model 66-4XSFN3, when conductors have to pass through a short span between two boxes or wireway sections while keeping the 4X seal. A plain coupling only joins two trough ends in line; it does not give you the three separate pass-through nipples this section provides.

Brushed finish on stainless steel, which is the standard appearance for B-Line stainless 4X wireway, so it reads the same as adjacent stainless trough sections in a plant or kitchen run.

3.228 lb. Light enough that it adds essentially nothing to a hanger run, but stainless 6 x 6 trough itself is heavy, so size supports off the full wireway, not this piece.
