B-LINE 6644-4XSFRE – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What sizes of wireway does the B-Line 6644-4XSFRE reducer connect?
The 6644-4XSFRE is a 6 x 6 to 4 inch reducer. Its stated dimensions are 6 in height, 6 in width and 4 in length/depth, so it takes a 6x6 wireway run down to a 4 inch section in line.
2) Can this B-Line wireway reducer be used in a washdown or corrosive area?
Yes. The 6644-4XSFRE is rated NEMA 4X and built from stainless steel with a brushed finish, which is what you want for washdown, food processing, coastal or chemically aggressive environments. The 4X rating covers hosedown and corrosion resistance, not just dust and dripping water.
3) Is the 6644-4XSFRE reducer UL Listed for an inspected installation?
It is UL Listed. For an AHJ inspection on a NEMA 4X wireway run, pair it with 4X-rated wireway sections and fittings of the same rating so the enclosure classification holds through the whole run.
4) What part number should I order for a 6x6 to 4 inch NEMA 4X stainless wireway reducer?
Order Eaton B-Line 6644-4XSFRE. That MPN is the stainless steel, brushed, NEMA 4X feed-through reducer taking 6x6 down to 4 inches.
5) How much does the 6644-4XSFRE weigh for overhead support planning?
1.635 lb. Light enough that it does not drive the hanger spacing on a suspended wireway run; support spacing is set by the wireway sections themselves and the conductor fill, not by this fitting.
