The 6612-12LW is a 6 x 6 inch trough body, 12 inches long. That gives you a square 6 by 6 inch wiring channel, so it lines up with other 6 x 6 wireway sections and fittings rather than the 4 x 4 or 8 x 8 sizes. At 12 inches it is a short filler or jumper length, useful for tying two enclosures together or bridging between longer runs.

It is a NEMA 12 trough with an oil-resistant gasket, so it is built for indoor protection against falling dirt, circulating dust, lint, and dripping or seeping non-corrosive liquids, including oil and coolant. That covers plant floors, machine shops, and food-adjacent processing rooms. It is not a 3R or 4X rating, so for outdoor exposure or hosedown washdown you want a rainproof or stainless enclosure instead.

Hinged. The cover swings on heavy-duty butt hinges and is secured by quick-release latches, so a single installer can pop the latches and let the cover hang open while pulling and dressing conductors. No loose cover to hold, set down, or lose screws from, which is the difference that matters on an overhead run.

The 6612-12LW is set up for wireway hanger mounting, which is how these troughs get suspended from structure or stood off a wall on a run. The trough itself is what ships; hangers, connectors, couplings, and end plates are separate wireway accessories you order to suit the run, so count those before you order the body.

14 gauge steel, painted ANSI 61 gray. That is the standard industrial control equipment gray, so it matches typical panelboards, disconnects, and control enclosures on the same wall without looking like a patch.
