The 8860 GRT NK trough is a NEMA 3R enclosure, so it is built for outdoor use where falling rain, sleet and ice are the concern. It is not a washdown or dust-tight rating, so keep it out of locations that call for 4 or 12. The steel body is finished in ANSI 61 gray and the cover is held by a flange and plated screws, which is the closure that makes the 3R rating work.

No. It ships with no knockouts, so every conduit entry has to be field punched or drilled to suit your run. That is what the NK in the model designation means. If you want factory openings, you need a knockout version of the trough instead.

It is an 8 by 8 inch cross section, 60 inches long. That 8 x 8 opening is the number that decides your conductor fill and bend radius at the entries; the 60 inch length lets you span between panels without splicing sections on a typical wall run.

Screw cover. The cover comes off completely, held by a flange and plated screws, which means you need clear access along the full 60 inch face to pull it. In a tight ceiling or behind equipment, a hinged cover trough is easier to service.
