The Bussmann NOS Series from Eaton is a supplemental, one-time, non-current-limiting fuse designed for light-duty circuit locations. Rated Class H and Class K5 at 600V with a 50 kAIC interrupting rating at 600 Vac, this ferrule end x ferrule end, non-indicating fuse is available in amp ratings from 1A to 125A, including 1A, 2A, 5A, 6A, 9A, 10A, 12A, 15A, 30A, 35A, 45A, 60A, 90A, and 125A options, to match a wide range of supplemental protection needs. Each Bussmann NOS fuse is CE Marked for compliance in qualifying installations.

Key Features

  • Amp Rating Range: Available in 1A, 2A, 5A, 6A, 9A, 10A, 12A, 15A, 30A, 35A, 45A, 60A, 90A, and 125A options to match specific circuit protection requirements across a single standardized fuse platform.
  • Fuse Class: Class H and Class K5 rated for supplemental, one-time, non-renewable overcurrent protection in light-duty applications.
  • Voltage Rating: 600V, suited for light-duty circuit locations across the full amp rating range.
  • Interrupting Rating: 50 kAIC at 600 Vac for dependable short-circuit performance regardless of the amp rating selected.
  • Non-Current Limiting Design: Standard supplemental fuse construction built for light-duty circuit applications rather than motor or branch-circuit protection.
  • Terminal Configuration: Ferrule end x ferrule end for straightforward fuseholder installation and replacement.
  • Non-Indicating Body: Standard non-indicating construction without blown-fuse visual indication.
  • Standard Duty Cycle: Engineered as a one-time fuse for supplemental protection, not intended for repeated cycling or as branch-circuit overcurrent protection.

Why Bussmann?

Bussmann by Eaton builds the NOS Series to deliver dependable, code-compliant supplemental protection across a broad 1A to 125A range, with consistent Class H and Class K5 ratings, a 600V voltage rating, and a 50 kAIC interrupting rating held constant across every amp rating in the family. The ferrule end x ferrule end, non-indicating design keeps installation and replacement straightforward for electricians and panel builders, while CE Marked compliance supports use in qualifying installations. Standardizing on the Bussmann NOS Series lets contractors and OEMs stock one trusted supplemental fuse platform for light-duty circuit locations instead of managing multiple unrelated fuse families.

Bussmann NOS-10 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can I use a Bussmann NOS fuse for branch-circuit or motor protection?
No. The NOS Series is a supplemental, one-time, non-current-limiting fuse for light-duty circuit locations, not branch-circuit overcurrent protection and not motor circuits. If the drawing calls for branch-circuit protection or a current-limiting fuse, you need a different class of fuse. Use NOS where the design calls for supplemental protection ahead of control circuits, lighting, small appliance loads, or equipment inside a panel.
2) What amp rating should I order in the Bussmann NOS 600V fuse, and what sizes are made?
Amp rating is the one thing you select, and the part number follows it directly: NOS-1 for 1A, NOS-15 for 15A, NOS-60 for 60A, NOS-125 for 125A, NOS-250 for 250A, NOS-600 for 600A. Low-end control-circuit sizes run 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70, 75, 80 and 90A; larger ratings are 100, 110, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 and 600A. Every rating carries the same 600V rating, so the fuse platform stays consistent as you move up and down the range.
3) Will a NOS fuse fit my existing Class H fuse holder?
Yes, if the holder is a 600V Class H clip. The NOS is a ferrule end x ferrule end fuse, which is the standard cylindrical Class H body that drops into fuse clips rather than bolting down, and it is rated Class H / Class K5 at 600V. Ferrule construction is used on the smaller ratings of Class H; at the top of the amp range Class H fuses are normally knife-blade, so confirm your holder takes ferrule ends on the larger sizes.
4) Can I use a 600V NOS fuse on a 240V or 480V circuit?
Yes. A 600V fuse can be applied at any system voltage at or below its rating, so the NOS works on 120, 240, 277 and 480V circuits as well as 600V. What you cannot do is apply it above 600V.
5) Does the NOS fuse show when it has blown?
No. It is a non-indicating body, so there is no pop-up pin or window to tell you it has opened. On a panel where a tech needs to spot a blown fuse without a meter, specify an indicating fuse instead. With NOS you test for continuity or check voltage across the holder.
6) Can I standardize one fuse family across control circuits and larger feeders in a panel build?
That is what the NOS range is built for. One series covers ratings from 1A up to 600A with the same 600V rating, the same 50 kAIC interrupting rating, and the same ferrule-end body style, so a panel builder or MRO stockroom holds one part family instead of several. Keep in mind it is supplemental protection, so it does not replace whatever branch-circuit device the design requires.
7) Are NOS fuses renewable, or do I throw them away after they blow?
One-time and non-renewable. There is no replaceable link, so a blown NOS gets discarded and swapped for a new fuse of the same rating. Because it is built as a one-time device it is not meant for repeated cycling; if something in the circuit is nuisance-opening fuses, the fix is upstream, not a heavier fuse.
8) Is the Bussmann NOS fuse acceptable for export equipment builds?
Each NOS fuse is CE Marked, which supports use in qualifying installations, and it is rated Class H and Class K5 at 600V. For an OEM panel headed to a market that requires CE documentation, that marking is on the fuse itself.
