1) Can I use the Eaton 10250T7007S emergency stop station in a Class I Division 2 hazardous area?
Yes. The 10250T7007S assembled control station is rated for NEC Class I Division 2, Groups B, C and D, along with NEMA 4, 4X, 12 and 13. That covers wet, washdown and dusty industrial locations as well as the Division 2 classified area. It is not a Division 1 device, so if your area classification is Division 1 you need a different enclosure type.
2) Does this Eaton E-stop latch in when pushed, or does it release?
It is a momentary operator, not a maintained push-pull. The jumbo mushroom head returns when released rather than staying latched in the stopped position. If your machine safety circuit requires a latching, manually reset E-stop, this operating mode will not satisfy it.
3) How many contacts does the 10250T7007S station give me, and can I wire both a stop and a signal circuit?
One element with a 1NO-1NC contact block. The normally closed contact carries the stop circuit and the normally open side is free for a signal, indicator lamp or PLC input. With only a single element there is no second block available, so if you need two NC contacts in series for a dual-channel safety circuit, this single-element station will not do it.
